What is KÜRstone?
KÜRstone is a polymer modified concrete which is permanently bonded to a plywood core… which is a fancy way of saying it’s a plywood “box” finished with a special material to make it look like concrete. So, is it wood? Yes. Is it concrete? Also, yes!
So, why do we do it?
Concrete products are valued for their aesthetically pleasing, expressive, and variable appearance. They are highly customizable and boast durability, longevity, and resistances to damage from scratching or heat. Concrete products are viewed as premium items which may increase the value of a home or commercial space.
However, concrete products are extremely heavy, rigid to the point of being susceptible to breakage or cracking, and require long production times. These qualities make decorative concrete a highly specialized product which drives up the cost significantly.
KÜRstone retains many of decorative concrete’s more appealing features, while circumventing most of its negatives. Aesthetically, KÜRstone is nearly identical to traditional concrete products, but weighs significantly less. This lightweight design takes the customizability of concrete products to greater heights, while maintaining a high level of durability. Manufacturing KÜRstone requires only knowledge, the right materials, and simple tools. With its straightforward production process and unique characteristics, KÜRstone makes it possible to spend less without compromising your vision
